You would like to improve your English skills for your studies, your profession, or simply to broaden your knowledge of the language through an academic approach. This course aims to help you become more confident in speaking and writing in English in academic situations and/or at an academic level. In each session, you will have the opportunity to speak to intensively to several different students about challenging texts, to express yourself on the topics, and to pose interesting and relevant questions to the other people in the course. Vocabulary appropriate to both spoken and written academic English will be reviewed in class, with plenty of opportunities to apply it in practice. We will discuss how to prepare yourself for speaking and writing, including how to structure and organize your thoughts effectively. This course is also an excellent way to train the reading, reasoning, writing, and vocabulary skills that you need in order to perform well on standardized tests such as the TOEFL or IELTS.

Materials will be provided by the teacher.

Ihr Kursleiter: Matt Cartas is an American with a passion for languages. Since being trained in Japan, he has more than a decade of qualified teaching experience and has taught in several different countries. Matt moved to Berlin in 2014, and enjoys exploring the many different sides of the city and it's surroundings. He's an avid rock climber, photographer, and fan of live music.
