Inhalte
Join me in exploring the art of Oriental Dance, commonly known as Belly Dance! In this workshop, we will learn how to:
- Understand different types of dance movements
- Organize and structure our dance training
- Use various improvisation techniques
We will begin with Laban Movement Analysis (LMA), one of the workshop's pillars. It is a widely used system for analyzing movement and consists of four main components:
- Body: Which body parts are engaged in movement?
- Effort: The dynamics and quality of movement - weight, time, space and flow
- Space: The pathways and directions in which movement unfolds
- Shape: The form the body takes in space.
By understanding movement, we will be able to categorize different dance moves within our practice. This will help us organize and structure our unique dance training.
Our goal is to practice dance in a smart, effective way, achieving more refined movement in a short amount of time.
We will conclude by exploring various improvisational techniques to create endless movement combinations, making our dance more engaging for both ourselves and our audience.
The greatest takeaways from this workshop are simply:
1. How to improve as a dancer through consistent yet short training sessions.
2. How to improvise with confidence and engage the audience.
This workshop will be structured as following:
- 1,5 hours of movement practice
- 1,5 hours for movement analysis, Q&A, breaks and an open discussion at the end
Who is this workshop for?
- Complete beginners, Beginners with prior experience and Intermediate-level students.
Basic English skills are required.
About the Instructor:
Anastasia Lymperopoulou (stage name Agape) has been teaching Fusion Belly Dance for the past three years at Volkshochschule Neukölln and various social organizations, contributing to women's empowerment programs.
She is a certified health coach for fitness and nutrition. She has trained in Fusion Belly Dance through both online and in-person classes.
Anastasia is fluent in English, German, and Greek and can assist you with translations if needed.
